To meet the increased need for food, the Food Bank of Iowa is in need of bags to support the mobile pantries and school distributions. Bags are being made from heavy, cotton t-shirts.
Since we have had all of this extra time, I’m sure we have been cleaning out our closets and drawers. The St. Elizabeth Social Concerns Committee is collecting freshly laundered cotton t-shirts to be made into bags to distribute food.
Please place donated t-shirts in the receptacle (garbage can) labeled under the canopy by the front door of the church. If you would like to go a step further and sew the shirts into bags, you can find instructions at: www.foodbankiowa.org
